Overview

The goal of the infographics are to provide procedures to network engineers who are going to be following a variety of protocols when responding to a variety of network alerts. This provides a general framework to learn and follow essential steps when monitoring computer networks.

Process

I interviewed two senior network engineers to learn the entire process when responding to network alerts received from monitoring application. I helped them identify the gaps of them trying to translate their understanding to entry level network engineers. I discovered that the manual given to new hires was lengthy and outdated. There were no visual aides to guide the engineers thru tasks. I decided to design neat and clear infographics for each procedure.

I designed a few vector graphics in Adobe Illustrator and uploaded them into Canva. Then, I sourced illustrations and finished the entire design. I made it imperative to design each infographic using company branding and colors. I also included the branding of all the involved applications for immediate learner recognition and recall.

The infographics have been delivered to the network engineers who are learning all the different protocols. I received their feedback thru the main stakeholder. Overall, they all think that the infographic is straightforward and includes extract information that they have had difficulty learning. The design helps them read quickly and submit error free tickets. I enjoy the process of interviewing and helping people turn information into easily to read pieces.
